AI Usage Disclaimer
I am not, in any way, a programmer. I learned some Object Oriented coding over a decade ago, and worked in various analyst and quasi-management positions in the tech industry, so I have a general understanding of how software, apps, etc are made, but not in depth knowledge when it comes to putting it all together.
I use AI to build the code behind some of the projects presented here. In all cases I provide the instructions from my own mind on how the site or tool should work, Claude (at time of update this is the AI Coder I prefer) simply handles nuts and bolts. I still handle all the code pushes through Git, and periodically dig into config or css file, but is that rarely needed.
I do not, and will never, use AI for the following:
- Image Generation
- Video Generation
- Creative Writing
- Ideas (I am drowning in these without the help of AI thankyouverymuch)
It is the view point of this website and it’s owner that AI is a tool, not something to be used to replace human creativity or human connection. I cannot control how AI is used outside of these four figurative walls, but in this house it is a tool, more akin to a Swiss army knife than a hammer. You can use it for a lot of things, but to use it competently you need to understand it’s limits.
Just because it can do something doesn’t mean it should. I have set limits on what I choose to use it for, and I stick to those limits. We must all adhere to our own ethos, in this Brave New World.
